127,334 companies in the UK hold a Home Office sponsor licence today. 121,982 of them are licensed for the Skilled Worker visa, which is the one most people need. That is the answer. The register is public, so nobody has a secret list and nobody should be charging you for one.
A licence is permission to sponsor, not a promise to sponsor you. It means the company is allowed to, not that they will for any particular job. Nobody may charge you for a certificate of sponsorship.
This page does not print all 127,334 names, because a list that long helps nobody. It sorts them into the groups people ask for, and every company has its own page with its licence and its routes on it.
177 licensed companies have a job open that we checked this morning and found still alive. Write to those first.
The register says who holds a licence. It does not say what the company does, so these groups are made from the company’s own registered name, matched on whole words. Each page says which words it matched on. A company can sit in more than one group, and many companies sit in none, because their name does not say what they do.
The same companies sorted into the 2,536 UK towns they give as their own address on the register. Open the town index
A licence is held for a named route, and a company licensed for one route cannot sponsor you on another. If you are looking for a tier 2 sponsorship list, this is it. Tier 2 General became the Skilled Worker route in December 2020 and the register has used the new names ever since. Counted from the register itself, routes with fewer than fifty companies left out.
If you already have a company in mind, type the name and see whether the licence is real, which routes it covers, and whether the licence was taken away. Check a sponsor licence
