What the checker tells you
- Whether the company is on the Home Office register of licensed sponsors today.
- Which routes its licence covers. Only Skilled Worker and Health and Care Worker lead to the work visa most people need.
- Its rating. A means the licence is in order, B means the Home Office has put it on an action plan.
- Whether the company was added to the register recently, or came off it.
- How many live jobs from it have passed our checks, and the jobs we have seen it advertise.
The free Chrome extension
UK Visa Sponsorship and Salary Checker does the same check from the job advert you are reading, on Indeed, Reed, LinkedIn, Totaljobs, NHS Jobs or anywhere else. Click its icon, or press Alt and Shift and S. It reads the employer name off the page and tells you whether that employer is on the register today.
When the advert shows its pay, it also checks the pay against the visa rule and shows you the kind of job it matched. When it cannot tell, it says so in those words rather than guessing.
For a job posted in a message or a group, select the company name, right click it and choose Check this employer.
Where every answer comes from
The licence answers come from the GOV.UK register of licensed sponsors, workers, which we download every morning and compare with the day before. That is how we know the day a licence arrived or left.
A Skilled Worker job usually has to pay at least £41,700 a year, or the going rate for that job if it is higher. Health and care jobs on the Health and Care Worker visa have a lower floor of £25,000. This is the GOV.UK rule in force since 22 July 2025. We last checked it on 26 August 2026.
The job answers come from our own checks on every advert we read: the employer is matched to the register, the route and rating are read, and adverts where the employer says it will not sponsor are taken out.

What no checker can tell you
- Whether the company will sponsor you for a given job. That is its decision.
- How many workers it sponsored in past years. We do not hold that, and we do not guess it.
- Whether an offer that asks you for money is real. It is not. A real certificate of sponsorship costs you nothing.

Questions people ask
Is there a free UK visa sponsorship checker?
Yes. Type a company name in the box on this page. It searches our copy of the Home Office register of licensed sponsors, which we read every morning, and it costs nothing. Our Chrome extension does the same from any job advert you have open.
How do I check if a UK company can sponsor my visa?
Find the company on the Home Office register of licensed sponsors under its exact registered name, and check that its licence covers Skilled Worker or Health and Care Worker. Then check that the job pays enough for the visa.
Does a sponsor licence mean the company will sponsor me?
No. A licence is permission to sponsor, not a promise to sponsor you. Each job is the employer's own decision, so read the advert and ask before you apply.
Can you tell me how many workers a company has sponsored?
No, and we do not guess. We do not hold that number, so we do not print one. What we show instead is whether the licence is on the register today, whether it was added or removed recently, and the adverts we have read from the company.
What does the extension send to SponsorJobUK?
Only four things off the advert you have open, and only when you click it: the employer name, the job title, the pay as the advert states it, and the town. There is no account, no cookie and nothing about you.
